Biography

Abraham Hite (b. 10 May 1729, d. 17 Jan 1790)

Abraham Hite (son of Jost Hite and Anna Maria Merckle) was born May 10, 1729 in Perkiomen, Chester County, Pennsylvania; died January 17, 1790 in Hardy, Bedford County, Virginia. He married Rebecca Van Meter (daughter of Isaac Van Meter and Ann Wynkoop) December 3, 1751 in Morefield, Hardy County, Virginia; born May 20, 1734 in Hampshire County, Virginia.

Daughter of Abraham Hite and Rebecca Van Meter is Hannah (Hite) Boone. This is not substantiated. The will of Abraham Hite does not list her and other sources have her as the daughter of Joseph Hite, Abraham's brother.
