Malcolm Peter Hoare was born on April 16, 1950 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, United Kingdom, son of Cecil Hoare (1920–1995) and Olive Malins (1923–1973).
This is the first super group with strong DNA evidence to suggest many other surnames have Patrilines in common. Not derived, variant or deviant but stark surname changes likely due to an NPE (Not the Parent Expected) or purposeful change to a spouses surname or similar or posible adoption.
Whatever the reason, there are now 27 people with surnames of Hoare, Hord, Ritter/Hord, Munday, Carver, Cox, Chambers, Freeman, Elliston, Monroe and Boren in this group. All with male descendants who have taken a Y-DNA test and are matching each other, some at over 700 markers.
See also the h600 group study on variants of the Hore, Hord, Hoare name which utilizes DNA analysis along with traditional genealogical records to link family lines through the centuries.
Publication - Origins of the Hore family from 12th Century Oxford
Origins of the Hore family from 12th Century Oxford and their many descendants in England and the Colony of Virginia. Over 50 years of research have gone into the making of this publication. This story starts in the 12th century in the City of Oxford with our earliest known ancestor Alfrey (Alfred) le Hore, who was living near the church of Oxford Saint Peter le Bailey, named because of its close proximity to the moat surrounding Oxford Castle.
The Hore family can be seen in various documents relating to the City of Oxford well into the 14th century, they were modern-day entrepreneurs, dealing in spices and fabrics, also butchers selling at a twice-weekly market in the Shambles. There was also another area that the Hore family were involved in, this was providing another form of enjoyment to the men and students of the colleges, one of the oldest professions, many cities in mainland Europe institutionalised prostitution as a public service. This was all part of everyday life in those times.
Alfred’s son, Master William le Hore was one of the more interesting characters, he held the position of king’s clerk and was appointed Chamberlain of South Wales. William was also appointed a commissioner of array for South Wales. William was also mentioned as Chamberlain of South Wales, for Queen Isabella of England.

If you would like to take over Sue Hord's entry as Profile Manager, let me know. I have no personal connection to her she was just along a rabbithole I was chasing...
Hi David, many thanks for contacting me, I will ask to join the trusted list, don't mind if you stay as a Profile Manager as well, I will leave it up to you. Kind regards, Malcolm
Thank you for your commitment to the England Project and its goals in 2023! Together we are making English WikiTree profiles the best they can be!
I'd like to share our end-of-year 2023 Newsletter. You can read it here: England Project Newsletters. We hope you enjoy reading about what we have achieved in 2023!
On behalf of all the England Project Leaders, we wish you a peaceful, productive and enjoyable 2024!
We are working on a male-line descent possibility from martin-4368. We have a male test (Big-Y / 700) that indicates a likely line -- our line stops at a Van Buren Martin, as father for Martin-63946. Love to collaborate with you on this.
You have probably seen the profile for Mordecai Hord as a son of Joseph Martin-4368.
This came about from our own group of Hore/Hord/Hoard/Monroe/ Munday etc descendants who have taken a Y-DNA test and are all matching our group, there are now 27 Y-DNA matches.
Last year I found a male descendant of Mordecai Hord and we fully expected his Y-DNA to be matching our group, what a surprise when we found out that he was matching the Martin family whom he knew very well. The test was with FTDNA and Mordecai's Haplogroup is R-FT70044.
We were still getting a lot of autosomal matches so we concluded that Mordecai was a son of Joseph Martin-4368 and one of John Hore-212 daughters, as in the will of John Hore/Hord he names Mordecai as a grandson.
Can you send me a link to Van Buren Martin so that I can see if any of our descendants have him linked to Joseph Martin.

You sent me a message regarding John Hore/Hord and Jane his wife, but did not include any WikiTree profile number. Did I change your profile, or suggest a possible merge?
Malcolm, thank you for you comments. When it comes to sources that I have for any individual, I put all of them in the sources section so that anyone can see where I received my information. It is my attempt at being as transparent as I possibly can be.
I just posted a message on Walters-2222. (I'm headed offline for the afternoon.)
