Biography

Robert was born at Sydney on September 19, 1796. He was the son of Robert Hobbs and Emma Heslin. He was a farmer at Pitt Town, NSW. He married Sarah Wright, daughter of Joseph and Ellen Wright, 1st and 2nd Fleet convicts, on April 7th, 1817 at C of E St. Matthews, Windsor. # 2030 V3A. They had 11 children and lived in the Pitt Town-Windsor area all their lives. He died on September 1, 1880 at Windsor and was buried at Pitt Town # 10954. Sarah tried to commit suicide in 1872 and died at Gladesville, NSW on August 21, 1886. #1886/8932. She was buried at Rookwood Cemetery, NSW. Entered by Graham Sparks--1226-- on January 19th, 2015.
