John Hobbs and his brother, Arthur Edward Hobbs were bee-keepers at Awahiri, near Palmerston North, John established an apiary on Aorangi Road in 1896. John was later in business with his son, Richard Hope Hobbs. [1][2]
HOBBS - The friends of the late John Close Hobbs are respectfully informed that his funeral will leave the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Queen Street, Palmerston North, on Friday, November 13th 1942, at the conclusion of a service which will commence at 2 p.m. for the Palmerston North Cemetery.
