Biography

When Elizabeth Hobusch was born in August 1878 in Missouri, her father, Albert, was 29 and her mother, Mary, was 25. She married Samuel Franklin Pistorius on September 19, 1896, in Macon, Illinois. She had three children by the time she was 23. She died on April 6, 1947, in Decatur, Illinois, at the age of 68.[1]

Mrs. Elizabeth Pistorius, 68, of 372 North Oakland Avenue, widow of a prominent Boody farmer, died in her home at 4.30 a.m. Sunday.

Mrs. Pistorius was born in St. Louis, Aug. 2, 1878, a daughter of Albert and Mary Bangert Hobusch. She was married to Samuel Pistorius at St. Louis in 1896. They lived in Boody until they moved to Decatur 27 years ago. Mrs. Pistorius was a member of the First Methodist Church.

She leaves two sons, Roy V., Blue Mound, and M. Edward, Macon; one daughter, Miss Mable Pistorius, Decatur; three sisters, Mrs. May Pistorius, Wichita, Kansas, Mrs. W. L. Klausmeier, Decatur, and Mrs. Dave Jokisch, Boody. There are four grandchildren[2]
