Jessie Nairn Hodge was born 11 Jun 1872 in Mauchline, Ayrshire, Scotland, to John and Elizabeth Kerr Hodge.[1][2]
According to the 1881 Census, at the age of 8 she was living with her parents at a place called Thiendless Head,[3] which I believe to be a misspelling of Friendless Head, or Friendlashead - there is nothing to confirm when the spelling of the name changed, whether people in the area tended to spell it as it sounded, or if it was considered more welcoming in modern times with the spelling of Friendlashead.
In 1891 Jessie, age 18, was the daur (daughter) of James Hodge in Friendlesshead, Mauchline, Ayrshire. She was a Farmer Daughter.[4]
On 1 Jun 1899 she married George Harvey in Mauchline. [5]
In 1901 Jessie, age 28, was the wife of George Harvey in Redgate, Sorn, Ayrshire. She was a Farmers Wife.[6] George was a farmer in his own right in the Parish of Sorn. at Redgate, Mauchline. In the 1901 census there are as yet no children listed but their first child is born in 1901.
Jessie died on 10 Dec 1937[7] and was buried in Mauchline Cemetery, Ayrshire.
