Biography

Betsey was born about 1864. She is the daughter of James Hodges and Mary Varnum.

Betsy Adelaide "Addie" Hodges, born on Feb 8, 1864, was the daughter of James Hodges, a native of Tioga County, New York, and [Varnum-313|Mary Elizabeth Varnum]], a native of Canada. The family was listed in Dryden Michigan in 1860 and 1870, and in Attica Michigan in 1880. Betsy's father was a farmer. She was one of eleven children with brothers Varnum, Zephania, Clair, Jabez, Austin, James and Prescott, and sisters Ella, Libbie and Julia.

Betsy married Henry E Eoff, the son of Era Eoff and Nancy E Seelye, both natives of New York. Betsy and Henry were married January 25, 1888 in Dryden, Lapeer County ^[1]where Henry farmed his adult life. They were the parents of Mabel V Eoff, the wife of Leon D Hall, and Henry C "Harry" Eoff.
