Mary (Hodgson) Tate was born in Dalton in Furness, Lancashire, England.

Mary Ann was born in Dalton in Furness, Lancashire, England, in 1853. Her birth was registered in the first quarter in Ulverston.

Mary Ann married Tom Tate in 1871. The ceremony was performed on December 4th in Bradford, Yorkshire, at St Thomas. The couple would have at least fifteen children. (Note...in the 1911 census, Mary Ann declared she had fifteen children, but six had died).

Mary passed away in Bradford on October 20, 1926. She was buried at Scholemoor Cemetery and Crematorium, Bradford, Yorkshire.
