Biography

Mary was born about 1825. She was the daughter of Joseph Hodgson and Sarah Don't Know. She passed away in 1867.^[1]

Mary & William owned and operated a bakery/confectionery store until William left for Australia to 'make his fortune.' Mary continued to operate the store for some time.

Peter Allen is uncertain that Mary was born in England. Records available to the Tunes indicate that she was born in Thorold, Ontario. The 1851 & 1861 census records, however, clearly indicate birth in England.
