He was the 3rd great grandfather of Queen Elizabeth II through his daughter Henrietta Mildred Hodgson direct to the Bowes-Lyon family.

Robert, son of Robert Hodgson and Mildred (Porteus) Hodgson, was baptised on 22 September 1773 in St Peters, Congleton, Cheshire, England.^[1] He was educated at Macclesfield School and Peterhouse, Cambridge, where he graduated BA as 14th Wrangler in 1795. He was Vicar of St George's Church, Hanover Square for over 40 years, from 1803 until his death in 1844.
