Biography

Thomas Hodgson was born on 18 Apr 1738 in Caton, Lancashire, England to parents Isaac Hodgson and Elizabeth Robinson. He was a Liverpool merchant and slave-trader. He owned cotton mills at Caton, near Lancaster. He married Elizabeth Lightbody on 2 Nov 1781 in Liverpool, St. Thomas, Lancashire, England. Children: Elizabeth, Isaac, Agnes, Mary Tylston, Adam, Anna, Thomas Tylston. He died on 13 Dec 1817 in Caton, Lancashire, England.
