Note: Per the Önsbach Familienbuch, she went to America in 1848.
Per the 1900 census, she arrived in America in 1851 and was married that year.
The one common witness to the christenings of the Heppenheimer children was Amalie Armbruster of 79 Chatham in NYC.
Joseph Armbruster is called out in the 1857 NYC directory as being involved in "liquors" and living at 79 Chatham. Chatham Place is located at the opposite end of Madison Street from Goerck in the Lower East Side of NYC.
Likewise, 1859 NYC directory lists Joseph E Armbruster at 79 Chatham.
The 1870 and 1880 US censuses have the Armbrusters living in Brooklyn (in 1880, at 61 Scholes Street). Some children's names and ages are from the 1870 census.
Note that the records fo the All Faiths Cemetery list burials for two unnamed children for the Armbrusters. The "Place of Death" given for one (d. 1869) was 59 Scholes Street in the Williamsburgh section of Brooklyn.
The 1889-90 Jersey City, NJ, directory (page 44) lists Amelia Armbruster as the widow of Joseph, living at 36 Booraem Ave.
1895 NJ census lists Amalie Armbruster as living in Jersey City, 11th Ward, Hudson County. She is living with son Frederick and his family.
1900 census, Amalia is living with her son Frederick in Jersey City at 36 Booraem Ave..
Per 1910 census, widowed and living with son, Frederick and his family in Jersey City.
DOD per obituary Brooklyn Daily Eagle, November 5, 1910 -
ARMBRUSTER-On Friday. November 4, 1910, AMALIA ARMBRUSTER (nee Hofer), aged 85 years . Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services at her late home, 77 Sherman place, Jersey City Heights, Sunday evening, November 6, at 8:30 o'clock. Interment private.
