"Chicago, Oct 14 - Mrs. Andrea Hofer Proudfoot, former editor of children's magazines and author, died last night in her sleep in her home. She was 83 years old. Mrs. Proudfoot, whose husband, ,Frederick, an attorney, died in 1934, formerly edited the Child Garden Magazine and Kindergarten Magazine.
"Among her better known books were "A Mother's Ideals" and "Child Christ Tales," written around the turn of the century. In 1913, she was a delegate to the women's peace conference at the Hague, and after World War I she was active with Austrian relief work."
