Records held by the Daughters of the American Revolution state that two American soldiers from Easton Pennsylvania, named Henry Bush, served under Captain Arndt, and both were taken prisoner. Ancestor #: A017406 was born November 25, 1760 and died April 6, 1839, in New York. His wife was named Catharine Dolson, and his had a son, Henry, who married Jane Braiden.
Eve / Eva Elizabeth Hoffman married Ancestor #: A017408, Henry Bush, born July 9, 1754. Her husband died July 7, 1832 and was buried in the Middle Smithfield Presbyterian Burying Ground in Pennsylvania. [1] Applications for membership in the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution have been made by descendants of the sons of Eve and Henry: Jacob Bush, who married Anna La Bar and John C. Bush, who married Hannah Arnt and through their daughters, Catharine Bush, who married Daniel Van Demark, and Elizabeth, who remained unmarried and cared for her mother.
"Eve E. Bush" is found on the United States census of 1850, living in Sidney, Shelby county, Ohio, at the age of 88, living with her daughter Elisabeth Bush. From this census we know that she was born in Pennsylvania and her estimated year of birth is 1762. [2]
