Craven Hoge was one of thirteen children born to Isaac Hoge and Elizabeth Nichols. He married Sarah Merritt in 1822. Their marriage was blessed with nine children. Craven passed away in 1857 and was laid to rest at Van Horn Cemetery in Vanlue, Hancock County, Ohio. His wife Sarah passed away in 1894 and was laid to rest at Shawnee Cemetery in Shawnee, Johnson County, Kansas.
