I apologize for not making my post clear. Elizabeth Hoge, born 1681, was not the daughter of William and Barbara Hume Hoge. They didn’t know each other until they were both on the ship Caledonia headed for America. That was 1682. Barbaras’ parents died enroute of the plague. William Hoge made it his duty to protect her and deliver her to an uncle in New Jersy. But, Wm and Barbara fell in love and were married in 1684 or 1685.
