Friedrich, Burgrave of Nürnberg (VI.), Elector of Brandenburg (I.), was born on September 21, 1371 in Nürnberg. He was the younger son of Friedrich V. von Nürnberg and Elisabeth von Meissen. He died on September 20, 1440 on Kadolzburg Castle.

On September 18, 1401, Friedrich married Elisabeth von Bayern of the House of Wittelsbach, daughter of Friedrich von Bayern and his wife Maddalena Visconti. They had 10 children:

Von Brandenburg-20 and Hohenzollern-47 appear to represent the same person because: They are the same person - Hohenzollern is the better Last Name at Birth, as the European Aristocrats naming standards preclude 'presurnames' such as Von
