Biography
James' origins are uncertain. He has been identified with James Holbrook son of Samuel who migrated to Massachusetts, but this cannot be as his children are all recorded born and living in England, mostly around Somerset. A more probable birth would be in the 1760s in Bristol or Somerset.
He probably did marry around 1786, so the Bristol marriage with Hannah Ash is possible[1].
James and Hannah had nine known children between 1787-1801, all born in the Bath area.
James died sometime after this date.
