Biography

He is buried in Sugar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Fannin County, Georgia.[1]

Research Notes

The middle initial "B." on his government marker is in error. The service record used to order the tombstone seems to have been that of his son. There is currently no definitive evidence that he was the son of Richard Holden, and the purported mother Jane Langston is largely an invention.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Uriah by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Uriah:

All the erroneous information needs to be corrected if we ever hope to find the correct information on Uriah Holden and Rhoda Wallace Holden. I have searched this family for 30+ years and this information is incorrect. Uriah is not Uriah B that is his son. Jane Langston married Richard Holden and they moved to TX where they died. Rhoda Julie Ann Holden is his daughter not his sister.

Uriah B. Holden's dates are incorrect that is his father's dates. Uriah (1798) DNA does not match the other Holdens in Gilmer CO GA. I am of the opinion that he connects to the old Robert Holden of Yadkin Valley of NC. A great grandson states that his father told him their Holden family came from the Yadkin Valley of NC.
