Thomas Simon Holden was born in 1783 in Laurens, South Carolina, his father, Thomas, was 37 and his mother, **Margaret, was 31. He married Elizabeth Flanagan on May 9, 1805, in Adams, Mississippi. [NOTE from Eleanor Colson. This marriage record is for a Simon Holden and a Sarah Kenney.
The Adams is possibly Amite as I have seen that error many times on Family Search Records. This may be where a middle name of Simon came from but the bride is not correct!] They had 12 children in 25 years. He died in September 1849 in Natchitoches, Louisiana, at the age of 63, and was buried in Louisiana.
