You said "DNA test shows Joseph is NOT the son of Thomas and Frances (Smith) Wells." What DNA tests were used and who was tested? Was there a published analysis article? DNA by it's self never proves anything. You need to understand who was tested and how they are related to the ancestors you are studying to evaluate the results and reach a conclusion.

Can you tell me about the DNA evidence for Thomas and Frances Smith not being parents of Joseph Wells? I admit that I was unsure because I did not have solid evidence beyond them being from Maryland.

Do you know who Joseph's real parents were? Also were they Quakers, or did Joseph become a Quaker on his own?
