Source needed to explain how the parents of Suanhilde and Bertrada are known?
Swanhilde is known firstly through a record concerning her sister. MEDLANDS (June 2016):
No record explicitly names her husband, but Count Emmo of Loon is widely accepted, because he is known to be the father of Count Arnold/Arnulf I of Loon, who became markgraf of Mainz (comes Mogotiensis prefectus) in 1008 through his own marriage. (So his son Arnold II of Loon can not be intended, not only for chronological reasons, but also because his mother is known.)
A confirmation of her existence and death is in the necrologium of Liège Saint-Jacques, where the counts of Loon were vogd:
Verdonk argues she died after 1093 because her death appears to be registered in the necrologium at Maria-Laach, in the Eifel, which had been started about then. It mentions the same day as the necrologium in Liège, 31 March, and calls her Swanhilde comitissa.[2]
