I have discovered a 1788 deed transaction involving Jacob and Anna Maria (Hollebach) Van Buskirk in Berks County, PA. The sale of the two bound parcels to Lewis Walker, ironmaster, mentions Matthias Hollenbach of New Hanover, Montgomery County.

Two years prior Anna Maria (known as Mary) and her sisters sold a tract in nearby Rockland Township that had been warranted by their father, Matthias, in 1751. Clearly, the properties were inherited at his death in 1778.

My reason for writing, besides imparting family info, is to learn how and when Matthias acquired the Van Buskirk parcels, for they had been warranted by our ancestor, Barnabas Rhodes in 1739 and 1750. He is an elusive fellow though we know he lived in New Hanover, Montgomery County (then Philadelphia). The 1750 warrant was entered into Deed A-Book 10-page 70. All deeds for Berks are online from 1752 when the county was formed, so it is probably in Philadelphia.
