William, born 1767, married (2) Elizabeth Carter Bouldin[1]
The Lunenberg County, Virginia Deed Book 8, page 134 has a deed dated 12 April 1764 wherein Richard Gaines of Goochland County, Virginia, buys from William White of Louisa County, Virginia 513 acres on both sides of Terry's Run (Cornwall Parish) for 115 pounds and 10 shillings. The 1774 tax list for Cornwall Parish listed Richard Gaines with 1 tithable in Elisha White's district. Richard Gaines and Sackville Brewer were both listed with 513 acres of land. Cornwall Parish later became Charlotte County. When Richard Gaines died in 1802, he gave that acreage to his son William.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mildred by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mildred:
in Richard Gaines II will he named his sons as Richard, James, Robert, Thomas, Francis, William and daughters as Mildred Brown, Patsy Gaines, Elizabeth Brown, Ann Marshall, Caty Price. He also named his wife as Mildred. It is believed that he had another daughter named Frances that was not mentioned in the will. She may have died before the will was written. Mildred Hollinger did not have two husbands named Richard. It looks like Richard II's father is listed as a husband.
Hollinger-219 and Hollinger-48 appear to represent the same person because: John, take a look and see what you think -- I'm pretty sure there are actually three of Mildred (Hollinger-220 also appears to be the same person.)
