Biography

Wilma "Lorraine" Hollis Aldridge was my grandmother. She was born Oct. 27, 1926 in Vienna, Maries co., Missouri. She was the daughter of Leslie James Hollis and Fredia Lavaughn Gibbs Hollis. Grandma had 7 siblings. Three of those siblings were a set of triplet girls, Martha Lazone, Mary Madeline and the other one I can't remember her name but grandma said she died at birth or some time shortly after, they were born in 1937. The rest of the siblings were William (Uncle Bill) Gibbs b: 1828, Leslie Wayne (Uncle Wayne) b: 1929 and Betty Jane b: 1937. Grandma married my grandpa Junior Warren Aldridge December 19, 1940 when she was only 13 years old and he was 20. They lived in Bible Grove and She worked at the Bible Grove School as a maintenance worker for a while. They had three children, Lonnie Lee, Leslie Roy and Debbie Lorraine. Grandma was 17 when she had my dad, the youngest of the two boys. He was taken away from us Nov 10, 1966 at the age of 22, I was almost 2. Grandma spent the rest of her life struggling much with his loss. Then she lost her husband in 1993, two grandsons, Randy Aldridge and Kevin Aldridge, her brother, Wayne Hollis, and her sister, Mary Madeline McGill. Grandma passed away on July 28, 2011 in Alexandria, Clark, Missouri at the age of 84, a year after losing her other son, my Uncle Lonnie. she lost
