Biography

Jonathan Holden's record originally had spouse as Rachel Hollister, but it was subsequently determined she married a different Jonathan Holden.[1]

  • Rachel Hollister Holden gave birth to eleven children when she was between the ages of 25-51 years old. All of these births are recorded in "Connecticut Births and Christenings, 1649-1906"[2]
  • 1811 Rachel Hollister Holden Holmes died November 6, 1811, in Glastonbury, Hartford County, Connecticut, age 73 years.[3]

  • 1790 U.S. Census: Johathan Holden lived in Glastonbury, Hartford County, Connecticut with one male over age 16 (Jonathan, 52), two males under age 16 (Silas, 1, David, 11, Josiah, 14, likely one of these sons did not survive to this census), two females (wife Rachel, 52, and daughters, Elizabeth, 5, and Rebecca, 8. Both these daughters lived to adulthood)[5]
  • 1794: Husband Jonathan Holden died.
