Jesse was born in 1754. He passed away in 1846.
Jesse Holloway was a son of Margaret (née Buck) and John Holloway. The Holloway family moved from Burlington County, Province of New Jersey, to Frederick County, Colony of Virginia, transferring in 1772 their membership from the Chesterfield Friends' Monthly Meeting to the Hopewell Monthly Meeting.
Jesse Holloway and Susannah Painter were married on 12 January 1780 at the Crooked Run Monthly Meeting in Frederick County. The couple are known to have eight children.
Jesse and Sarah Holloway and their children settled in Salem Township, Columbiana County, about 1805. Jesse Holloway's brother-in-law Jacob Painter (with his wife Mary and their children) had settled in 1802 near the village of Salem in Perry Township, Columbiana County. A Quaker monthly meeting was established in Salem in September 1805, and Jesse Holloway was a witness to a 20 November 1805 marriage in Perry Township.
