Harriet Holloway was born on 19th November 1835 at Lane Cove, New South Wales, Australia. She was the third daughter of Samuel Holloway and Mary Ann Pincham.[1]
When Harriet was just weeks old, In January 1836, her father was convicted of harbouring bushrangers and transported to Norfolk Island. Soon afterward, her mother moved in with, and ultimately married, William Lutherborrow. Harriet would have a further eight (younger) half-siblings.
She married James Inwood on 1st September 1857 at Glebe, New South Wales.[2] Harriet and James had seven children, only one of whom did not survice infancy:
Harriet passed away on 3rd July 1911 at Kenthurst, New South Wales, and was buried in St Jude's Church of England Cemetery, Dural, New South Wales.[3] The Cumberland Argus and Fruitgrowers Advocate ran the following obituary on 8th July 1911: "Mrs. Harriet Inwood (76), of Kenthurst, wife of Mr. James Inwood, died suddenly on July 3, and was interred at Dural the next day. Mrs. Inwood leaves four sons and three daughters."[4] Harriet's husband of almost 54 years outlived her by ten years.
