Ernest Holmes, son of Burvill Holmes and Catherine Isaacs, [1][2] was born on 13 February 1887 in Dover, Kent. [1][2] He was baptised on 29 March 1908 at St Mary the Virgin, Dover, Kent. [1]
Residence
On 31 March 1901 in Oswald Road, Dover, Kent, with his parents Burvill Holmes and Catherine Holmes and his siblings Burvill Holmes aged 22, William P. Holmes aged 18 and Irene Holmes aged 11. [2]

Apparently Holmes in Great Britain is the Smith of the United States and there are lots of lines, Since I do not rcognize and of the other names as Holmes descendants in my line, and i have them all back to 1738, I am going to forward your message to Rick Holmes, who is one of the genealogists working on Holmes lines, so don't be surprised if he can offer you information that will help you work,
