Biography
Margaret Ann Holmes was born about 1867. Margaret married in the Parish church in Ulverston. She had 2 children, Ethel and Harvey who both attended Manchester University. Her husband, William, became a Sea Captain and died at sea in about 1918.
Margaret continued to live in Ulverston, as she looked after Ethel's oldest son when he joined the Royal Navy in the 2nd world war.
Margaret did travel to Rhodesia, as she signed as a witness to Ethel's marriage to the Mayor of Bulawayo in 1921. [1] Margaret's son Harvey, is believed to have immigrated to America. Margaret passed away in about 1940. [2]
