Caroline was born in 1836.

Caroline M. Holmes and Levi Hildreth were married on April 7, 1854, at Mineral Point, Iowa, Wisconsin.^[1] From various census and death records, it appears the Levi and Caroline had at least the following children, all born in Wisconsin:

• Oscar, b. ca. 1857
• Samuel, b. ca. 1859
• Rachel A., b. ca. 1862
• Jane E., b. ca. 1864
• Sarah A., b. ca. 1866
• Levi, b. ca. 1868
• Elizabeth, b. ca. 1872
• John, b. ca. 1874
• Harriett, b. ca. 1876
• George, b. ca. 1878

Caroline Hildreth is a widow with three children living in Mineral Point in 1900.^[2]

She died on February 15, 1927, and is buried at the Graceland Cemetery, Mineral Point, Iowa, Wisconsin.^[3]
