Biography
William was born on 16 March 1816 in NC. He was the son of John Holmes and Lydia (Register) Holmes.[1]
When William was 27 he married Louisa Catherine Reinhart on 5 October 1843 in Married by M. Busby. The couple had 12 children: John Eperson Holmes, Michael S Holmes, Richard E. Holmes, Sarah L Holmes, Jacob B. Holmes, Martha Holmes, Julia Elizabeth Holmes, Mary L Holmes, George W Holmes, Lewis A Holmes, Louisa C Holmes and Malinda D Holmes. Marriage License:[2][3]
In the 1880 census William (age 64) was living in Kellys Creek, Shelby, Alabama, United States.[4][1]
William was buried after 7 March 1898 in Columbiana Cemetery, Shelby Co., AL.
