↑ Electronic letter of 5 Dec 2016 from Dan J. Ferris to Albertus Text: "I think the information about this Samuel Holmes includes information about Samuel Albro Holmes who was the son of Asahal and Phoebe Albro-Holmes, born on 16 May 1829, died 25 Jan 1910. The Samuel Holmes who was the son of Jedediah Holmes was born Abt 1828 and appears to have died prior to 1900. This Samuel had a daughter named Sophrania who married George Ferguson and they had a daughter named Pearl. It appears this Samuel and his family moved to CA after he became an attorney in Paw Paw, MI. He may have helped start the Holmes Lumber business in the late 1800's in Eureka, CA." Nota bene: the information regarding Samuel Albro Holmes, referred to in the above letter, has now been deleted from this profile; it regarded dates of birth and death taken from a FamilySearch Ancestral File, which wrongly ascribes to Samuel Albro Holmes the parents of this profile's Samuel Holmes: hence the confusion. 5 Dec 2016 - Albertus
