At the time of the 1881 Canada Census, William E, Olivia, Ella A, and Clarence Holmes were listed as living in Mill Village[1].
At the time of the 1891 Canada Census, W. E., Ella A, and C. W. Holmes were listed as living in Parrsboro[2]. At the time of the census, Clarence's occupation was listed as "Clerk".
Notes
Originally, the town was known as Mill Village after a mill founded in 1800, but by 1889, when the town was incorporated, it had been renamed to Parrsboro, in honour of Nova Scotia Governor John Parr, who had visited the area in 1784.
