Friend, son of Ephraim and Jane (Holmes) Holmes, was born at Halifax, MA on March 23, 1764. He was residing in Taunton, MA when he joined the Revolution. He served as a private in Col. Drury's Bristol County regiment. He was discharged in December of 1781. No further record found.
