Martha Holt was born on April 11, 1725, in Windham, Connecticut, her father, Robert, was 29, and her mother, Rebecca, was 36. She married John Richardson on January 1, 1754, in Hampton, Connecticut. They had three children during their marriage. She died as a young mother on October 4, 1759, in Pomfret, Connecticut, at the age of 34.
