Charles Wesley Holt was born on 28 Feb 1877 in West Leicester, Cumberland, Nova Scotia, Canada, son of James Holt (1848– ) and Venecia Jane Delesdernier (1849–1923).
Charles (47) married Alberta Sarah Hicks (27) (born September 29, 1897 in Midgic, Westmorland; daughter of Frank Hicks (1877–1927) and Lillian (Estabrooks) Hicks (about 1881–1960)) on 6 Oct 1924 in Sackville, Westmorland.[1] Their known children were:
Petitcodiac, Oct 28 (Special)- The death of Captain Charles Wesley Holt of Peticodiac, age 75 occured at 2:30 this morning at his residence. Mr. Holt, who had been in falling health for the past year and a half, was born in Leicester, Cumberland county, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Holt. Captain Holt had been a resident of Peticodiac for the past 16 years. He was well known and had a host of friends who will learn with regret of his passing. A Methodist by faith, he had been a member of the I.O.O.F. in Amherst for 48 years and also a member of the Acadia Masonic Lodge there. He was an army captain in the First World War and was decoratated while serving overseas for the 25th Battalion. Surviving are his wife, the former Alberta Hicks of Midgic; four daughters, Ethel (Mrs Harold Bannister), Hawkshaw, York County, and Venisha, Edith and Eva at home; seven sons Charles, Petitcodiac, James A., Fort Erie, ON, Robert L., Herbert E., Frank A. and John T. at home, and seven grand children.
