Biography
Robert Holt was born about 1833 in the Chatham County area of North Carolina to the parents Alsley Holt and Prudence Nancy Johnson. Robert was married about 1854 to Elizabeth Ann Stephens. They are listed in the 1860 census as living in Wake, North Carolina. They had 2 children Sarah Holt age 5 and Julia Holt age 3. Robert enlisted in the Civil War on March 14, 1863. He was in the 1st Light Artillery Division. Company E. Mustered out on Sept. 30 1864 in Petersburg, Dinwiddie, Virginia. Burial location unknown at this time.
