Biography
Spratley (AKA Spradley) Holt was born about 1773 in Virginia to parents Charles Holt Sr. and Mildred Sledge. He married first Elizabeth Claud on 17 Jun 1799 in Southampton, Virginia. Children: Maybury, Martha (Patsy) F, Etheldred Taylor (Dread), James Edmond, Newton (Newt), Mary Ann, Sparrel (Spance) Holt, Smithen S (Smith), Daughter, Catherine.
After Elizabeth died in 1829 he married second, Nancy Walters on 24 Jan 1829 in Montgomery County, Virginia[1] (likely in a part that in 1831 became Floyd County). Children: Martin Henry, Tenepas, Eliza Jane, Herbert W, Nancy Agnes Ann, Matilda Flora Belle, Charles Mabry. He died in Dec 1849 in Floyd County, Virginia.
