From among the many reasonably scholarly works published about Richard Mather, do any identify his wife, Katherine Holt, as other than having died in 1655, the daughter of Edmund Holt of Bury, Lancashire?
Yet another source, "Sons of the American Revolution Membership Applications, 1889-1970" apparently reports she was "Catherine Wise."
In the alternative, have these claims on WikiTree for her birth and parents been supported by other research, so that identifiable records and analysis proves Katherine/Catherine's father, Edmund, was a man who died Lancashire, 10 March 1628? That Mather's wife was the daughter of an Elizabeth Shelpley? And then might someone provide the details of that research and analysis.
