Note: Mrs. Vassie Marie Honeycutt Seaford, 93, of Kannapolis died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009 at Liberty Commons Nursing Center, Salisbury, N.C. She was born on May 4, 1915 in Lincoln County, N.C., the daughter of the late Charlie Burette Honeycutt and Louise Barker Honeycutt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Boyd Seaford on Nov. 8, 1999. She was the former owner/operator of Towel City Blind & Drapery Co. from 1950 to 1989. During World War II, she was a riveter and timekeeper with Glenn L. Martin Aircraft of Baltimore, Md. She was also a seamstress. She was raised on a farm and attended Davidson High School. She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, where she served as treasurer for the women of the church. In earlier years, she was a member of Gilwood Presbyterian Church, where she was the director of the kindergarten department for nine years. Later, as a member of Second Presbyterian Church, she was active with the Cub Scouts and served as den mother. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday at Whitley's. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 19, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Gene Frady will officiate. The burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. She is survived by two sons, Charles Seaford and wife, Becky, of Kannapolis, and William (Bill) Seaford and wife, Sharon, of Kannapolis; four grandchildren, Bryan Seaford and wife, Angie, of Harrisburg, Adam Seaford, of Kannapolis, Sara Seaford, of Kannapolis, and Natalie Page, of Kannapolis; four great grandchildren, Jonathan Page, Stephen Page, Daniel Page and Noah Seaford; two brothers, Alonzo Honeycutt and wife, May Nell, of China Grove, and Robert Honeycutt, of Appomattox, Va. Memorials may be made to Calvary Presbyterian Church, 1602 Lane St., Kannapolis, NC 28083.
