Biography

Name

Thomas Hoo, Knt. [1]

Birth and Parentage

Thomas was born about 1370. Thomas Hastings ... [2]

Thomas Hoo's birth date is not found, but he married his 1st wife before 18 Feb 1394/5, and if was 21 in 1394, then his estimated date of birth would be 1373. However, his first wife Eleanor was already a widow when they married, age 20 in 1381, and therefore born in 1361. This would suggest an earlier birth date for Thomas Hoo, say, 1360. However, Thomas Hoo's mother was born in 1343, and so a compromise guess for Thomas' birthdate would be 1363, when his mother would have been 20.

He was son and heir of William de Hoo, Knt, by Alice de Saint Omer. [1]
