Biography

Anne Hoo

Anne was probably born c. 1510. This date is a guess, based on marriage date of daughter Kathryn in 1546 (so her birth date is guessed as 1530), and her youngest daughter Marie born in 1536. Anne may have been born before 1510.

Anne was the daughter of Thomas Hoo and his wife who was a daughter of John Newman of Hatfield.[1]

Thomas Reade married to Anne Hoo.[1] They had one son and four daughters.

Children of Thomas and Anne:[1]

  1. Thomas Reade, b after 1535 (under age on 16 April 1556), will dated 14 Apr 1604
  2. Kathryn Reade, b c. 1530, d before 1604; m 5 Sept 1546 to Thomas Vachell
  3. Elizabeth Reade;m Richard Beke
  4. Alice Reade, bur 22 Feb 1540
  5. Marie Reade, b 1536; m 1) Unknown (Ward?) of Hurst, 2) Edward Martyn

In 1563 Anne Rede's right to the Lordship of Dunstew is recognized and her son is mentioned as Thomas Rede, Gent. Anne's will was written on 25 October 1575.[1] Her son Thomas Reade was her executor. She was buried on 30 October 1575 in the Rede Aisle, St. Helen's Church, Abingdon, Berks.[1]

Her Find A Grave: Memorial #131682737 (1499-1575) d/o Thomas Hoo, of the Hoo in Hertfordshire, (Esq.) and was buried at Beedon, in Berkshire.

She was married to Thomas Reade and or Read, in 1515

I just added a source [S37], hope I did it right. How would I go about adding tags?
