Biography

Clement was born on 23 Apr 1824 in Ohio or Virginia.[1][2][3]

On 6 Jan 1845, Clement married Rhoda Axtell in Athens, Ohio.[4][2][5][3]

In the 1880 census Clement (age 55), Farmer, was the married head of household in Alexander, Athens, Ohio, United States.[6]

On 10 May 1882, Clement married Derthula Coughenour in Gallia, Ohio.[7]

Clement passed away on 29 Dec 1890 in Alexander Township, Athens County, Ohio[8], and was buried at Bassett Cemetery, Athens County, Ohio.[1]

Research Notes

The 1850 and 1860 U.S. Census records have Clement being born in Virginia. All the other census records have Ohio. FindAGrave has Wheeling, West Virginia (West Virginia didn't exist in 1824). Wheeling was located in Virginia in 1824, but FG offers no evidence that he was born there. Feidt-22 10:02, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
