Sergeant Richard Hooper served with 6th Virginia Regiment (1777), Continental Army during the American Revolution.
Richard Hooper is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A057774.
Richard Brookes Hooper was born May 1758 in Lunenberg, Virginia, the son of Obediah Hooper Sr. and Masilva (Brooks) Hooper. He was the brother of Mary (Hooper) White, William Hooper, Obediah Hooper Jr. and Nancy (Hooper) Goodlett
Richard married Elizabeth (Adams) Word on January 13, 1783 in Halifax County Virginia. They had the following children:
