Franklin D. Hoover May 15, 1933 - Nov. 26, 2012

BERRIEN CENTER - Franklin D. Hoover, 79, of Berrien Center, passed away Monday, November 26, 2012, at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, November 30, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 9123 George Ave., Berrien Springs, with Pastor James Eggert officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. Friends may visit from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P M. Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Berrien Springs. Those wishing to share a memory of Franklin may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com. Franklin was born May 15, 1933, in Berrien Springs, MI, to James and Addie (Jones) Hoover. He served his country in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955. On September 17, 1953, Franklin married Elaine Kurbis in Benton Harbor, MI. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, woodworking, antiquing, and enjoyed being a handyman. Franklin in survived by his wife, Elaine Hoover of Berrien Center; sons, Terry (JoAnn) Hoover of Berrien Springs and Ronald (Kimberly) Hoover of Berrien Center; 3 grandchildren, Christopher (Jaime) Hoover, Kimberly (Jeff) Ham and Brienne (Frankie) Ontiveros; 4 great-grandchildren, Isabel, Issac, Henry and Ava; and siblings, James Hoover and Ethel Glueckert. Franklin was preceded in death by his parents, and by a sister, Jeannette Beyer.
