Stephen was the son of Judah Hopkins. His birth in Harwich MA (Jan 1711/1712 would be 1712 in our calendar), baptism and marriage are all recorded in Harwich.
Around 1742, Stephen evidently moved with his family to Mansfield, Connecticut, where his children Mary, Rebecca, and Hannah were born.[1]
