Biography
Charles Hopkins was born in Acrise, Kent in 1850. He was baptised on 17/11/1850.
His younger brother John went to South Africa between 1872 and 1876. John told the family that he had 2 brothers and that his older brother had gone with him to South Africa but had become very ill while at sea and had passed away.
It is assumed that this must have been Charles as there is no record of him in any of the UK census records and there is no record of him in South Africa.
