Junius Franklin Hopkins was born on 25 Mar 1868 in Laguna, New South Wales, Australia as the seventh child of George Francis Hopkins and Jane Fernance. He had eleven siblings, namely: john, George, William, Elizabeth Jane, Thomas Charles, Daniel Francis, Catherine, Ernest Earl, Abraham Emmanuel, Isaac Ephraim, and Jessie Ada. He died on 05 May 1961 in Atherton, Queensland, Australia. When he was 42, he married Matilda Waldron, daughter of John Waldron and Rose Ann Benson, on 16 Aug 1910 in Queensland, Australia.
