According to Harford County Marriage Licenses lists available at the Harford County Historical Society, Bennet Hopkins m. Elizabeth Morris Mar. 27, 1848.

Harford County Land Records

01 APR 1854 - purchased from David Devlin of Penna 61 acres of land known as Aquilas' Inheritance. Price $1200. A mortgage in the amount of $600 is also recorded as owing to David Devlin.

05 MAY 1865 - Sold part of Aquilas' Inheritance, 32 acres, located 1 mile west of Hopewell Crossroads to Skipworth Gorrell for $900. Remainder of parcel sold to Richard Foley. Both buyers received mortgages from Bennett Hopkins.

18 APR 1866 - Bought 124 acres of land for $6,989 from John Silver on the road leading from Grays Church to Darlington. Mortgage from John Silver for $3500.

Probate

Harford County Will Records - Inventory Book JRE-16 page 200 15 AUG 1871 - lists all household goods with a total value of $2,111. Items included: 4 beds, walnut table, sofa, books, clock, silver watch, 12 chairs, double barrel gun, 2 shares in Building Association, buggy, sleigh, ox cart, hickory & poplar boards, wheat in barn ($150) interest in wheat on Quarles Farm ($110), corn in ground ($252), pigs, 16 sheep, 1 yoke oxen ($150), 5 cows, 1 bull, 4 horses, mule, and 3 steers.

William Hopkins of Joseph was named adminstrator of estate. Sale of goods was ordered by court. The sale book lists all items sold and purchasers. Elizabeth Hopkins purchased majority of household furnishings, livestock and building association stock. His brother purchased some of the livestock and lumber. Total receipts from sale $3,100.
